The MakerDate Auction is Assemble’s largest fundraiser of the year. It’s a remix of a date auction where folks can bid to spend time with local makers to learn new skills and use them to make things. Bid to learn how to code, brew beer, or create a mural and more with the creative community of Pittsburgh. The possibilities are endless! It is also an amazing event where all attendees get to connect with local artists, makers, and technologists as well as future-focused companies – like yours!

STEAM Summer Camps

Do you remember summer camp? Imagine if you were able to get hands-on engagement with STEAM learning, coding, costume making, and more!

Assemble’s Summer Camps are a tangible experience for campers to build their confidence, apply their knowledge, and explore their passions and agency in their community. We focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) through hands-on experiences, building 21st-century workforce skills, and providing career connections. All this is to enable all youth to succeed in school through feeling confident about participation STEAM topics. Our Summer Camps fill a critical void in the Garfield community by providing a free, safe, and educational space for neighborhood residents.

“Summer Slide” is not the name of a fun ride–it’s what it’s called when kids lose academic skills during the summer. Our camps help kids, especially those who would not otherwise have access to this type of enrichment, retain skills and learn new ones, all in the context of fun, hands-on experiential learning!
