Mystical Metamorphosis (SFX MakeUp)

Step into the enchanting world of Special FX Makeup! Our curriculum is carefully designed to accommodate learners from third grade through High School, guiding the exploration of makeup techniques and facial prosthetics. Delve into Halloween horror, Cosplay and Anime, Pop Art, Costume design and Age Makeup. Students will have a digital portfolio to keep at the completion of this learning track.

Afrocomics

Everybody’s got an OC or two (or many!). What’s yours? Are they a hero, antihero, or villain? A queen, or pop star, or alien? In this class, you’ll get to create your own digital character art with Procreate, incorporating it into animations and comics! We’ll apply the lens of Afrofuturism, highlighting Black creators and characters. Bring your creativity to life digitally with Afrocomics!

Rube Goldberg

Join Assemble as we explore American cartoonist and inventor Rube Goldberg and his extreme machines with endless possibilities! A Rube Goldberg machine is a contraption, invention, bridge, or device, that is deliberately OVER-engineered to perform a simple task in a complicated fashion, generally including a chain reaction (domino effect). As a team of young inventors, you and your classmates will design and build elaborate and creative contraptions using all kinds of recycled and repurposed materials!

Explore the science behind the sparkle in the stones all around you! Take a dive into the world of geology and learn about gemstones from around the world and the symbolism that they hold. You’ll learn how to grow your own crystals, make a geode with an egg, and find your own gemstones!
