Youth Maker Night
is a free, monthly workshop for students in grades 5-8. Make new friends in a community setting while participating in hands-on STEAM projects led by Guest Experts.
Have you ever wondered how your favorite movie got its sound effects? Or how does your favorite band sound so much better live? Enter the wide world of sound with Squonk! In this workshop we will explore sound design, foley effects (everyday sounds), and how we can influence signal to create aural ambience and imaginative soundscapes. Together, we will analyze mainstream music, the sounds of nature, film score and a wide variety of other media. You’ll get to experience recording using a loop station, work with guitar pedals, and collaborate as a team to overdub a scene from a movie or TV show! Come make some noise with us!
