MakerDate 2018
MakerDate 2018 Presented by Calgon Carbon
Friday, September 14 from 6-10PM at Ace Hotel Pittsburgh
Get ready for MakerDate 2018 Presented by Calgon Carbon! MakerDate is our annual celebration of our awesome community of supporters! Come celebrate the impact of Assemble’s science, technology, engineering, art, and math educational programming. MakerDate is a one-of-a-kind event, pairing skilled creators with people who want to learn something new. Attendees are able to bid on “dates” with craft makers, designers, technologists and innovators, who will work with the winning bidders to make a piece of art, a personalized piece of technology, or practice a new skill.
Instead of a single object, winners receive an unforgettable experience and a new relationship. All funds raised at the event go toward Assemble’s educational Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) programs.

Apply to be a Maker
Are you a Maker? Makers are artists, crafters, foodies, technologists, designers, innovators, engineers, entrepreneurs, nerds, and you! At Assemble, we help to showcase Makers as well as incubate their ideas while educating our youth of Garfield and beyond.
Assemble announces a call for Makers for its unique and interactive annual fundraising event – MakerDate! Now in its sixth year, MakerDate 2018 will foster creative connections through a live auction that pairs expert Makers with curious skill-seekers. It is like a playdate for grownups, but you get to meet a local expert and learn how to make something.
Come and be one of the 200 attendees!! Help Assemble raise funds for the free and low-cost STEAM educational programs in our space in Garfield. Attendees are 21+ and represent a wide range of Pittsburgh businesses, interests, and neighborhoods. We anticipate a bigger bolder gathering featuring music, drinks, a silent auction, and the main event, the MakerDate auction! As a Maker, you will be able to reach this audience in an intimate, unfiltered and engaging way, building your own network. You will also directly contribute to Assemble’s efforts to provide equal opportunities for the Pittsburgh community to explore new ideas, new careers, and create new possibilities.
Makers who would like to be considered for participation must complete the Maker Request Form
If you have any questions about being a maker at MakerDate, please reach out to Ariel Barlow (ariel@assemblepgh.org)
