Who Made That: African American Scientist Discovery Camp (Ages 8-10)

Ever wonder who came up with the idea that you could heat and cool your home with air? Did you know someone dreamt up traffic signals? Did you know that the super soaker is related to airplanes? Bring your questions and your creativity to learn Who Made That: African American Scientist Discovery, a hands-on winter camp at Assemble! In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King’s Birthday, join us Monday January 16 from 9am – 4pm to learn about inventions from lightbulbs to pacemakers! Come experiment with us and find out what the real McCoy is all about!

  • Assemble Day Camps run from 9am-4pm.
  • Snacks will be provided daily. Campers will provide their own lunch. Please be mindful that Assemble is a PEANUT FREE space.
  • Each day camp costs $50*. Pre-camp and post-camp care are available for an additional fee of $10. Pre-care is 8-9am, Post-care is 4-6pm.
  • Interested families can reserve a spot for their child through eventbrite or by calling 412-254-4230

*The $50 fee for campers from our home neighborhood will be waived. Children and tweens who reside in Garfield are invited to join us for free. If you need a scholarship, please email Nina@assemblepgh.org. Assemble’s scholarships are “Pay-what-you-can.”
