The Divine Woman is a feminine unveiling of the emotions of postpartum through paintings in watercolors, dyes, acrylic paint and multimedia. Takara wants moms who have had children to connect, remember, and reconnect with emotions and memories.
Takara Canty is a classically-trained visual artist from Garfield Heights in Pittsburgh, PA. Her talent grew from watching her mom paint pictures in watercolor and acrylic paint, and quickly evolved to an appreciation of color, textures, and forms. Inspired by prominent artist like Frida Kahlo, she decided to chase her dreams as an artist. With over ten years of teaching experience, Takara is passionate about helping kids express themselves through making art.
She has worked with nationally-known artists like George Gist, Therman Staman and James Simon, and partnered with ARCHO construction to complete and display installations. In addition, Takara has curated adult and kids painting classes, painted murals, installed mosaic pieces on buildings, and worked with local galleries like Boom Concepts.
