Curious about applying natural color to textiles? Join us at Assemble for a hands-on natural dye workshop. We will dye fabric using some easily-accessible materials, and learn about the use of natural color across history. All materials are provided, however if you would like to contribute some dandelions from your yard, these will be welcome in one of the dye vats! Each attendee will come away with two hand-dyed swatches. No prior experience necessary.
About the Guest Maker:
Leah Patgorski is an artist and designer based in Pittsburgh who works with natural dyes and textiles in her studio practice. She creates sculptures, architectural installations, and painting-like objects, as well as collaborations other artists. Leah’s recent work is on display at Assemble through April 29.
The 21+ Workshop Series is sponsored by PULSE Pittsburgh.
We meet every fourth Saturday of the month from 7-9pm. All materials are provided. You do not need prior experience to participate. The goal of this workshop series is to open the making process to people who want to learn a new skill in a community setting. Our goal is to engage as a community to learn, support, and connect with other creatives. Workshop Series reaches out to the community to bring creatives together who may not have access to these materials, space, community, and time.
We encourage participants to bring their own snacks and drinks.
You must register for this workshop via Eventbrite.
We would love to hear from you! Send us an email, and we'll get back to you.
