Every performance involves countless hours of rehearsal, most of which is done in private. Practice is Perfect opens up these mysterious, transformative and repetitive actions to the public. The project is organized by Aaron Henderson, a filmmaker and performer, and recordings of the rehearsals will form the source material for a new film by the artist.
There are lots of ways to participate in this project:
Sign up (on the form below, or stop by Assemble and fill out a form in person) to rehearse at Assemble. Any activity that needs practice and is performed is eligible (dance, music, theater, sports, arts, etc.).
Note: We will not be able to accommodate all rehearsals, but we will try and schedule as many as possible during the month.
All rehearsals will be open to the public and recorded.
Not a performer? Stop by when rehearsals are happening and watch as performers create new skills and hone older ones in an informal setting. Every rehearsal will be different!
