Looking for something for your summer Saturday afternoons? M3 (Materials, Media, and Me) is Assemble’s summertime Saturday program, running from 1pm-4pm. It’s a drop-in program for kids 8-12 to get to know the material world around them! At M3, students learn experientially as local experts guide them through the design process. Each week, a different artist or technologist will introduce a material, show students how they use the material, and lead them through a project.
Join us August 15 to learn about Paper with Valerie Herrero! Paper can be found everywhere and has been around for longer than we think! From the papers we use in our everyday lives to papyrus to natural papers found in Bamboo and made by wasps, students will explore and experiment with making, finding, and using papers of all sorts. Students will discover new ways to use paper with a variety of drawing materials and will incorporate paper experiments, drawings, and even text to create a mixed paper collage. Register here!
