Get your STEAM (science technology engineering art and math) on this summer with M3!
June 22, noon-3pm, with Will Schlough
Nature is not only full of artistic inspiration, but it also provides us with great materials with which to make things! Children will collect and combine found natural objects to make imaginative creatures and other fun projects.
Materials, Media and Me (M3) is a series of Saturday afternoon workshops for children ages 8-10. Each week, a different artist or technologist will introduce a material, show students how they use the material, and lead them through a project.
The M3 classes have expanded this year to include and highlight Natural Found Objects, Time + Place, Cardboard, Electricity, Body+Movement, Code, Sound, Wood, Light+Shadow, Man-made Found Objects, Food Chemistry + Perception, and Fiber.
Students will explore the properties of the materials with the instructors—How does it bend? How can you attach it to another material? What can I make with this?—before planning their own project. Sign up for one or more M3 classes today!
