AmeriKKKa: A Post Racial Society, is Alaric X’s first art exhibit. Using photography, paintings, prints, clothing, and an interactive installation, Alaric X has created an exhibition that focuses on making commentary on both race relations and the black experience in AmeriKKKa. The exhibit is up for an entire month and will be home to several events throughout the month of May.
Opening Night: Friday, May 1st, (Penn Unblurred)
AmeriKKKan Media Screening: Sunday, May 10th, (2:30-4:30pm)
This will be a screening of a combination of several racist, appropriating, and stereotypical clips that will be followed by an open discussion.
Alaric X Apparel Pop Up Shop: Friday, May 15th, (4:00-8:30 PM)
Throughout Saturday evening at Assemble you will be able to stop in and purchase some limited edition Alaric X Apparel, with prints and designs all based on the AmeriKKKa exhibit. There will also be an art auction of small pieces from various artists. Throughout the day there will be snacks and great music!
Heardle | Alaric X Open Mic: Friday, May 22nd (7:00-10:30)
Come to Assemble Friday the 22nd for the last AmeriKKKa event. This will be an open mic co-hosted by Alaric X and Heardle. There will be a few performances at the beginning, and then the stage will be opened up to anyone who’d like to perform. The theme of the show is “Truth”
