De-Lightful Imagery

March 15 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Free
us at night bright

Astronomy and photography are both about the light–and both are delightful. Join videographer and motion graphic artist Dean Mougianis, artist, musician and programmerGiselle Jhunjhnuwala and astronomer Diane Turnshek as they examine the beauty of the heavens through the technique of light painting. Create intricate, beautiful patterns through long photographic exposures and moving light sources. In this workshop, participants will use a variety of light sources and “paint” with them to create images in real time, centered around the theme of planets and stars. We’ll talk about planetary orbits and celestial motion. Participants will leave with digital copies of their artistic creations.

Come have fun, make delightful images and learn about the wonders of the night sky. Appropriate for all ages, from the young to the young at heart.
