SCREEN PRINTING AND TRANSIT COMICS W/ JUAN FERNANDEZ AND PPT @ SATURDAY CRAFTERNOONS
On Saturday, March 14th we worked with local cartoonist and printmaker Juan Fernandez to screenprint bus posters and transit comics in partnership with Pittsburghers for Public Transit.
Juan ingeniously incorporated all the kids’ sketches and drawings from last week into one poster design. This week, we used the front window at Assemble to trace the transparent image Juan designed onto paper. After tracing, the kids painted with watercolors to decorate their bus poster.
After the watercolor was mostly dry, Juan assisted participants with the screenprinting process.
We had a blast learning how to screenprint! Thanks so much to Juan for coming.
