Greetings Fellow Assemblers,
My what an amazing year! Assemble has really grown over the year and I want to thank you for all your help in making this happen! In 2012, we received our 501(c)3 non-profit status, strengthening our opportunities for fun-rai$sing! We are growing into a shapely organization, connecting circuits, learning through parties, and building confidence through making! I hope you were able to join us at an Unblurred event, an M3 workshop, a Learning Party, or a Saturday Crafternoon. Did you have a chance to meet and make with someone at the MakerDate Auction? Or did you help to support us by being one of our experts, sharing your knowledge with the kids of our neighborhood? Did you stop by the LAB/Mad Science Supply Store? Or meet some of the delegates from the One Young World Conference? All in all, it was an amazing time and I am so happy that we were able to enjoy and enrich the lives and minds of our community together. I am truly grateful for not only a great Board of Directors but also a fabulous team of teaching artists and dedicated volunteers. Thank you to all artists/makers/technologists who have shared their processes with us and all who will in 2013.
The buzz around Assemble has also been amazing – with articles in the Tribune Review, CMU Home page, to the most recent mention in the NYtimes!
Yes, 2012 has been an amazing year. Can you believe that we are still just 100% volunteer run organization?! (Yea, it’s pretty crazy.)
But, enough about Assemble. Let’s talk about YOU! With your help and support, we have been able to do a lot. YOU make this happen as much as we do.
As you are preparing for your resolutions for 2013, please keep us in mind. We would love to have your help- be it from sharing your expertise, spreading the word about events, or volunteering. As an all volunteer organization, we are making incredible things happen with very few resources. In order to continue offering these engaging opportunities, we are asking for your financial support. Again, we are a 501(c)3 organization, so your contribution is 100% tax deductible. Please show us how much our programs mean to you with an online donation. If you would like to donate to Assemble in honor of a special person (an awesome gift idea, instead of socks), please let us know and we will send a special card to the recipient informing them of your generosity and good wishes.
We wish you all warm and wonderful holidays.
